Guides FAQs

Using these guides.

Who writes the Bright Ideas lighting guides?

They are written in-house by the Bright Ideas team, drawing on sixteen years of specifying lighting for homes, hotels, offices and retail spaces in India. The guidance reflects what we specify on real projects rather than general manufacturer copy.

Where should I start if I am planning lighting for a new home?

Start with the room-by-room planning guide, then the false-ceiling comparison to understand how recessed, linear and magnetic track differ in ceiling depth and flexibility. Between them they cover the decisions that have to be made before the ceiling closes.

Do these guides apply to Indian projects specifically?

Yes. Lux levels, colour temperature preferences, IP ratings for monsoon exposure and typical false-ceiling construction are all written for Indian conditions and Indian build practice rather than adapted from European guidance.

Can I get advice on my specific project?

Yes — the guides cover the general principles, but every space is different. Book a lighting consultation and we will apply the same thinking to your drawing, with a fixture list, an AutoCAD layout and a quotation.
