A quick buyer's guide

How to pick the right one.

The things to think about when choosing the right model for your project — from weatherproofing to beam angle to how it gets mounted.

  1. 01 IP44 for sheltered overhangs; IP54 / IP65 for partially or fully exposed canopies
  2. 02 Narrow beam (24°–30°) for spot accents; wide (50°–120°) for general ambient
  3. 03 Compact bodies (25–70mm) for shallow soffit cavities; deeper (100–150mm) for higher mounting heights
  4. 04 Cut-out sizes Ø20–Ø75mm — confirm soffit cavity before specification

FAQs

Common buyer questions.

Quick answers to the questions we hear most often about this range.

What soffit cavity depth do canopy lights need?

Compact units (HLO-6751 family) need only ~30–50mm; medium units (HLO-6755/56) need ~50–60mm; deeper square-recessed units (HLO-6760 family) need ~50mm with rectangular cut-outs 35×65 to 35×145mm. Confirm cut-out per model on the BOQ.

Are these IP-rated for fully exposed canopies?

IP44 variants suit sheltered overhangs; IP65 variants are sealed for partially exposed canopies (porte-cochère edges, forecourt boundaries). For fully driven-rain locations, specify IP65 with the driver mounted internally.

Are drivers included or external?

Mixed — some variants ship with integrated drivers, others ("WITHOUT DRIVER") require a remote driver (typically 12V or 24V DC). Confirm at spec stage and budget for driver if external.

Can these be used for petrol-station or industrial forecourt canopies?

Yes — IP65 variants with Bridgelux LEDs are commonly specified for petrol-station overhangs and industrial forecourts. For vehicular drive-over locations specify the surface mount version on the [Bulkhead](outdoor-bulkhead-lights) page instead.
