FAQs

Common buyer questions.

Quick answers to the questions we hear most often about this range.

What IP rating do bollard and outdoor wall lights need in India?

IP65 is the practical minimum for anything exposed to monsoon rain. Bollards sitting in planted beds or near irrigation should be IP66, and any fixture that could sit in standing water needs IP67. Covered porches and canopies can drop to IP54.

How far apart should bollards be spaced?

Space bollards at roughly two to three times their mounting height — about 2.5 to 4 metres apart for a 900mm bollard. Stagger them alternately rather than in facing pairs, which avoids a runway effect and keeps light levels even along the path.

What height should a bollard light be?

600–900mm suits garden paths and planted borders. 900–1200mm suits driveways and wider walkways where you need a longer throw. Above 1200mm you are usually better off with a post-top or wall-mounted fixture.

Will bollard lights survive Indian summers and monsoon?

Specify die-cast aluminium bodies with powder-coated finishes and marine-grade fixings for coastal sites. The two things that kill outdoor fixtures here are water ingress at the gland and UV degradation of the gasket, so both the IP rating and the gasket material matter.
