A quick buyer's guide

How to choose a touch panel.

Five decisions that shape the right panel for your room — from module size to smart-home integration.

  1. 01Module size. Count the devices you want on one wall plate. One single high-load device (geyser, AC) needs a 2-module 30A panel. A bedroom with 2-3 lights + fan fits in 4-module. A living room with 5-7 channels fits in 6-module. Open-plan whole-room control needs the 8-module flagship.
  2. 02Channel mix. Map each device to its switch type — 5A switches for lights, 15A/16A switches for high-load (AC, geyser, microwave), fan switch + fan speed control for fans, curtain switch for motorised curtains. The model number tells you the channel mix (e.g. ZEN 605 has 1 master + 1×16A + 5×5A + 1 two-way + 6A plug = full living-room).
  3. 03Smart control. All Prime Zen panels include touch + mobile app + Alexa + Google Assistant. Decide if you want voice control before purchase — voice integration requires WiFi and a Prime Zen hub at the site. Without WiFi, the panels still work as smart-touch switches via the app over Bluetooth.
  4. 04Finish. Black or white glass — both available across the full range. Pick by interior palette: black for warm or contemporary rooms with dark accents; white for minimalist or hospitality-style interiors.
  5. 05Wiring & installation. Touch panels use terminal wiring and need a neutral line at the switch box (most modern Indian construction includes this). Existing two-wire installations may need an electrician to add a neutral run before installation. Our team confirms wiring compatibility on site visit.

FAQs

Common buyer questions.

What is a touch panel switch?

A touch panel switch is a smart electrical switch with a flat capacitive-touch surface in place of mechanical buttons. It replaces a conventional modular switch plate, controls lights, fans, curtains, sockets and appliances from a single panel, and adds smartphone-app and voice-assistant control on top of physical touch. The Prime Zen Zen-series touch panels at Bright Ideas come in 2, 4, 6 and 8-module sizes.

How many devices can one touch panel control?

Depends on the module count. The 2-module panels control up to 4 channels, 4-module up to 7 channels, 6-module up to 9 channels, and 8-module flagship panels up to 9 channels with multi-device configurations (master switch, 5A/15A/16A switches, fan speed control, curtain control, 6A plug, two-way switch).

Do Prime Zen touch panels work with Alexa and Google Assistant?

Yes. Every Prime Zen Zen-series touch panel integrates with both Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant for hands-free voice control. The Prime Zen smartphone app (iOS and Android) gives full remote control plus scene programming, scheduling and away-mode automation from anywhere with internet access.

Are these touch panels safe around children?

Every Prime Zen Zen-series touch panel ships with a built-in child lock that disables touch input until released via the app. Useful for bedrooms, nurseries and any room where accidental switching needs to be prevented.

Which module size should I choose?

Match the module count to room device count. 2-module (93×91mm) for compact spaces like a bedroom with 1-2 lights. 4-module (152×91mm) for medium rooms with light + fan + plug control. 6-module (221×91mm) for master bedrooms and large living rooms with multi-light + fan + curtain control. 8-module flagship for whole-room or open-plan spaces needing full integrated control.

Do touch panels need WiFi to work?

No — the touch panel itself works without WiFi via physical touch. WiFi is required only for remote-app control, voice control (Alexa/Google Assistant), and cloud-based scene automation. The panel still functions as a smart-touch switch over Bluetooth without internet.
