A quick buyer's guide

How to pick the right one.

The things to think about when choosing the right model for your project — from weatherproofing to beam angle to how it gets mounted.

  1. 01 Start from the sport and the level of play — recreation, training or competition — which sets the light level and uniformity the ground needs
  2. 02 Mounting height decides the beam: narrow 10°–15° beams throw from tall masts to the far side of a ground; medium and wide beams suit lower poles and courts
  3. 03 Courts and smaller grounds are usually lit with 250W–500W floods on poles; full-size grounds and stadiums with 1000W-plus sports floodlights on high masts
  4. 04 Choose high-CRI variants where matches are filmed or broadcast, and aim fittings to keep glare off players and neighbouring properties

FAQs

Common buyer questions.

Quick answers to the questions we hear most often about this range.

What do you need from us to quote sports lighting?

The sport, the playing-area dimensions, the level of play (recreation, training or competition) and what mounting is available — existing poles, new poles, high masts or a roof structure. Those four things decide the wattage, the beam angles and the number of fittings.

Which floodlight suits a box cricket or tennis court?

Courts and smaller grounds are usually lit with 250W–500W floods on poles — Crompton Aura, Challenger Pro or Challenger Pro Plus, mixing medium and wide beams. School courts and play areas can use Hybec lens floods. Full-size grounds and stadiums move up to the Pluto Pro Plus and Pluto Pro-Sports on high masts.

Can you design the lighting layout for a ground?

Yes. We simulate the ground in DIALux to the light level and uniformity the sport needs, then quote the floodlights, poles or high masts and control gear together, so the layout and the order match.

Do you have options for televised or broadcast matches?

The Pluto Pro-Sports is available in high-CRI variants for broadcast. We check the right variant against the broadcaster’s or league’s specification before quoting.
