What does Infine8 supply?
Infine8 covers the control layer — smart LED drivers, WiFi controllers, wireless switches and touch panels for homes, hotels, offices and retail spaces. These are specified alongside the fixture schedule rather than as standalone products.
What does a smart driver do that an ordinary driver does not?
An ordinary driver converts mains to the constant current the LED needs. A smart driver adds addressable control, so the fixture can be dimmed, grouped into scenes and scheduled without a separate dimmer module in the circuit. That matters most where you want zone control without running dedicated control cable.
Can Infine8 controllers work with fixtures from other brands?
Yes, provided the protocols match. What has to be confirmed is the dimming standard the fixture driver expects — TRIAC, 0-10V or DALI. We check that pairing at specification stage, which is the single most common cause of flicker when it is skipped.
Is an Infine8 system suitable for a retrofit?
Often yes. WiFi controllers and wireless switches can be added without rewiring, which suits an occupied building. A full addressable installation is better planned into new work, where the control cable can be run with the lighting circuits.
Do Infine8 controls need a hub?
It depends on the topology. WiFi controllers connect directly to the local network and need no hub for basic control. Larger multi-zone installations benefit from a gateway for reliable scene recall and scheduling — we advise on which applies once we know the zone count.
