What is the difference between COB and SMD downlights?
COB packs many LED chips onto a single emitting surface, which produces one crisp beam with sharp shadow definition — ideal for accent and retail display. SMD spreads separate diodes across a board for softer, wider light better suited to ambient fill. COB generally gives better beam control and higher CRI.
Are Aronix COB downlights dimmable?
Many series are, but not all — dimming depends on the driver supplied with the fixture. Confirm the dimming protocol (TRIAC, 0-10V or DALI) at specification stage so the driver and the wall dimmer are matched, otherwise you get flicker or a limited dimming range.
Which Aronix series suits a hotel project?
The hotel-project range is built for high-volume specification — consistent binning across batches so fixtures match from room to room, and trimless options where the ceiling detail calls for a flush finish. We shortlist against the room schedule and ceiling type.
Is trimless available across the Aronix range?
Trimless variants are available on several series, including Pinnacle, Zenium, Enzo and the Invisible series. Trimless fixtures need the plaster detail planned before the ceiling closes, so flag it at drawing stage rather than at installation.
